A sick confidence

Hey boo's! I know I've been away for about a week but, the semester has finally come to an end and I'm no longer under pressure... for now.

I've also been sick and I know we've all been there. Feeling ugly? Maybe extra fat? And just not into "it!" Yeah, that's been my week. However, never fear the fierce is still here. I'm going to give U a few tips to keep you confident while sick.

1. If you live in a chilly city like I do (Chicago) I'd highly recommend a big scarf to go with your outfit. Shoot for a black, white or gray if you can so it can match any outfit and you can stay warm. Usually one of these babies will run you about $12-15 but, every penny is worth the warmth.

2. Make up while sick is so overrated so I say ditch the full face and just focus on the lips. A bright or even a toned down lip pop can give you the extra snap in attitude you need to keep you going. I found that since I've been sick I move towards a deep dark red lip most. It's just something about a dark lip that does me a favor and make me feel a dark kinda sexy. The bright lip can boost your mood a bit too.

3: Treat yourself to a nice bowl of Chicken noodle soup. My Granny was gracious enough to make soup for me today after school. It took about 5 minutes to make. This was an instant soup BUT, it made me feel better. While we're sick the least we can do is treat ourselves to some nice food. I myself am a fan of take out and sub sandwiches but, when I'm sick liquids are my BFF! Stick next to them. Love them! Cherish them!

A sickness can make any girl feel girl ugly (trust me I know) but, just because that's how you feel doesn't mean that's how you should look. Keep warm cuties!
                                   Love, Jazz!

Miss Universe 2015

Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega has been crowned Miss Universe. She beat out first runner-up Miss USA, Nia Sanchez and more than 80 other contestants at the pageant held in Miami.

Vega, a 22-year-old student of business administration from Barranquilla, Colombia, said that this was her first and last Miss Universe pageant. She said that she is eager to return to her studies in Colombia after her reign.

"It will be a dream come true to represent the woman of today. A woman that not only cares about being beautiful and being glamorous, but also cares about being a professional, intelligent, hard-working person," Paulina spoke earlier in the week about being crowned the winner.

Congratulations to the beautiful Miss Columbia for being crowned Miss Universe and good luck in your reigning year.

The Baby Shave

Hi Divas, today's talk is on shaving!
A simple shaving method I found on Pinterest a few years ago and have been using ever since.
What you need: -Razor (disposable is fine)
                          -Baby Oil GEL
What do you do: 1. Shower as normal
                           2. While still in the shower when ready to shave, squeeze the Baby Oil Gel into                                  your hand and rub on desired body part in a circular motion.
                           3. Take the razor and carefully shave as normal.
4.Once done squeeze enough Baby Oil Gel about the size of a pea into your                                     palms and rub on the shaved area(s) to ensure smoothness.

Why this method? I found that using this method decreased the amount of razor bumps I got from shaving. And it also made for a softer and more hydrated skin. I don't use this method every day, probably about every two weeks. I've found that shaving every day or every other day make razor bumps and ingrown hairs inevitable. You must allow your skin to rest and actually develop more hair before you go shaving it all off again. I call this this "Baby Shave" method  because it leaves you feeling softer than a babys bottom. It's truly amazing, thanks Pinterest.

Removing False Lashes

Hey Loves!

Last week I posted about applying the falsies we all love, eyelashes! This week I've decided to help you all with the removal of them as well. Peeling strip lashes off your eyelids is the easiest and most common way to remove them. It’s also the best way to create premature sagging in the eye area as well as loss/damage to your natural lashes.

The best way to gently remove false eyelashes requires two steps!

1. Use a gentle non oil-based eye makeup remover to soften the glue. Soak up a cotton pad (or cotton swab) with remover, hold it to your eye for a few moments, and let the false lash slide off.

2. After the false eyelash has been completely removed, soak a cotton swab with any gentle oil-based eye makeup remover to remove any residual glue on your eyelid.

Now that wasn't so painful was it?

Rihanna: The Jazzy review

These are my very first set of "real" fragrances. Aside from your body sprays from pink and Victoria Secrets, I'm not much of a fragrance girl. However, a lovely Uncle of mine gifted these to me my sophomore year in high school. And here I am a junior and just now appreciating them. Sad right? I love these scents because they honestly made me feel like I'm a young woman and not a little kid. I believe that you can tell a lot about a person based off of how they smell. Good or bad, you just kind of know a few things. Following is a break down of how these fragrances make me feel and what type of look would work with them.

Nude: More of a light summer scent. From first swipe, you can build this up by adding more to give you a heavier smell. This is one of those fragrances that when you walk past people will smell it for a quick second and then it's gone. Kind of leaving them wanting more. Doing a build up leavs your lovely smell in the room a for minute or two longer. It isn't harsh on the nose at all, reminds me of sweet pea.

Reb'l fleur: My personal everyday favorite for this winter. This scent will stick with you all day without a doubt. It's a slick, clean smell. Not too strong, but will cause a hug to last to long. HAHA! Take it from me, I know. I wear this with a heavy sweat shirt most of the time. It makes a bummy look feel sexy. Nothing is better that catching your scent in the wind and knowing that's all you. I don't know about you ladies, but it is a definite confidence boost.

Rogue: A heavier musky scent. Not my favorite, but in the name of fashion it is killer with a masculine outfit played out sexy. I myself could see RiRi wearing this. We know how she likes to wear a sexy roughed up look every now and then. This will surely make people do a double take when you walk past. I know many women like to wear a male scent sometimes. And honestly that doesn't work for everyone, but this Rihanna fragrance will be the way to go. It gives you that male smell, but still has an under cover sexy.

I can see myself repurchasing the Reb'l fleur and the Naked, but not so much the Rogue because I wouldn't wear it that often. Overall, these are great for a young woman's first "grown up" scents and even awesome for a grown woman. Highly recommended!

False Lashes

I've recently fallen in love with false eyelashes. At first they turned me off because it seemed a little to much. I'm all for a beat face but when it came down to false lashes I was so quick to turn my face.
False lashes are that part of the makeup routine that most people tend to skip over, because most think they can’t pull them off… or just couldn’t put them on, but I'm here to give you a quick tutorial!

Strip False Lashes: These are the more popular type of falsies, because they’re quicker to apply. They are a full eye’s worth of lashes making them much more easy to apply.

Individual False lashes: Individual lashes are ideal for occasions where you want extra drama but definitely don’t want the look of bulky lashes!  Each individual lash is meant to be applied one by one to the lash line.  It’s easy to blend individual lashes together with your real lashes, so they give off a much more natural look.

You will need:

-Scissors

-Eyelash glue

-Black mascara

-Tweezers.

-Black eyeliner

Steps:

1. It is very important that you trim the eyelashes before application. Hold the lashes to your eyes, and snip off the part of the falsies that extends beyond your natural lash line (I am talking about the strip, not the lashes themselves!)

2. Use a Q-Tip to apply the glue to the strip of the eyelash. Allow the glue to dry 10-15 seconds this will help the lashes set faster.

3. With your fingers, apply the center of the false lash to the center of your lash line. Use the tweezers if you have clumsy hands.  Then use the tweezers to set down the edges as well.

4. Once the lashes are applied, hide any glue with eyeliner, and use mascara to blend your natural lashes with your fake ones.

Winter Mitts

Before Chicago's cold front hit us with its worst, I took to the shops to find the perfect winter gloves. I knew exactly the style I wanted. Black gloves that I can keep my hands warm while using my cellular device all at once. It wasn't until I was shopping downtown one day and aimlessly walked into an Urban Outfitters on State street (I saw a cute boy lol), that my winter's chakra was open. Okay, maybe not all of that but I was in awe to see all of these warm and fashionable clothing styles in one place.

Now, this was my first time venturing into an Urban Outfitters and I instantly fell in love. While perusing, I found some gloves that would definitely keep me warm. After continuing upstairs to the men's wear department, I saw that they had more to offer as far as warmth and comfortability. That's when I spotted the exact gloves that I had been searching for but could not find. They are knitted with special insulation so my hands are warm at all times. I was so in love with the gloves that I didn't care how much they cost. I paid $30 but it was money well spent.

Shoe review

These are the Nike Zoom Fitsole 2. These are for the Nike + run app if you're a runner and you won't believe how much I spent... ONLY $29.99 at ROSS! If you want inexpensive name brand shoes Ross is the place to go. I almost went to Lady foot locker and spent a good $100 for these same exact shoes, but don't we just love a great bargain shop? These shoes are amazing, almost feels like I'm walking on clouds.

In most gym shoes the problem areas are the tops of the shoes. I couldn't flex and move my toes around like I'd like too so that would cause my feet to cramp while running. And I would almost hate running unless it was for my assigned gym class because my shoes kinda sucked. The shoe bends into almost any angle your foot goes when running which makes it great for those of us who dislike the extra pressure on our feet.

The soles of the Nikes are super soft and bouncy, allowing me to have a bit more of a bounce when my feet land. These were a big step up from my Reebok running shoes I had before. I also love these shoes because they were a bold step out for me. I usually shy away from the bold colors, but in the spirit of the new year I decided to try something new.

I don't really like how they got dirty so quickly, but they can be thrown in the washer for a quick cleaning if running is all you'll wear them for. Overall, the Nike Zoom is a great shoe for runners of all levels (still a beginner myself).
