Breaking into the industry

Hey Ladies and Gents!

Over the weekend I got the honor to attend a Style Chat by Bebe Jones. Bebe Jones, who is also a very well known writer and blogger, and other well know Designers, Stylist and PR mavens were on a panel. We discussed the main tips when it comes to breaking into the industry and coming out on top. Here are the main three:

 1. Protect your brand: It is always important that you stand for what you are putting out into the world! Never settle for less and remember that your Network is your Networth!

 2. Build a team: The people behind you will be your biggest supporters! You'll need them along the way when it comes to hitting the biggest milestones in your career.

 3. Eliminate all jealousy: Remember that what is for the next person is for them and what's truly meant for you is for you! Don't let anyone or their success deter you from your calling. Intimidation is not allowed! The fashion industry is cutthroat. So continue to climb the ladders and be fierce on top!

Don't forget to look more into Bebe Jones. She is an amazing writer, beautiful and talented! Congrats on all your success!

Why eyeliner?

Why do we wear eyeliner you ask? Well, for many reasons... A few that I'm sure of is the fact that it makes your eye appear smaller. And eyeliner can hide a sleepy eye (take it from me, a full time student).

The darkness of the coal pencil depending on if you wing your liner or not gives you a bit of a cat eye, it brings the focus to your eyes immediately. I would say eyeliner is one of the basic things everyone needs, even if you're not an everyday makeup person. You should own at least ONE jet black coal pencil (I find the liquid stuff a little overrated... I'm slightly jealous I can never perfect a line with it). They're only about 50 cents to a dollar at your local beauty supply.

Stay Stylish and Trendy

 Hey Y'all!
So for the past 2 months I have been in a cast for my injured Achilles Tendon. And it's been extremely hard to keep up to date with the latest fashions because of it. I gave up on trying to find clothes that fit with my new accessory (the cast) so I easily ventured into sweatpants, hoodies and baggy shirts.

For a girl like me it's hard to simply bum it on a day to day basis. I enjoy dressing up and beating my face here and there. So I recently have gotten into joggers! They are extremely stylish yet casual. You can dress them up with a nice pump and jacket or keep it smooth with a pair of flats and a Tshirt. I am absolutely in love!

What are some of your favorite style with a pair of joggers? Let me on social media! Twitter: @Darianna_J or tag me in pictures on Instagram: Darianna_J

The natural blues

Okay ladies... As you all know I am a new natural and I need some help. My hair is always SUPER dry! No matter the amount of oil I put in it, it always soaks it up within a day or two. This is madness! These (below) are the ONLY things I use on my hair along with a few different kinds of oils (not depicted)... What should I cut out or put into my hair routine? Tell me on Twitter @FwfBlog , @WrittenByJazz or Instagram @fwfblog , @jazz_inspired

Freshly Served

Recently, news spread in the U.S. that the officer charged with the death (by chokehold) of Eric Garner was not indicted for his actions even though there was video evidence of the assault. In this video, it was documented that "I Can't Breathe!" was Eric Garner's last words. Since the hearing, protests have broken out all over the states.

Protests have made their way to the fashion world. One brand in particular (pictured above), Served Fresh, has shown their support with the "I Can' Breathe" Tee. The tshirt's design was explained by the company on their Instagram. "Fallen letter 'T' with bright yellow outline represents the chalk line most familiar in homicide investigations AND protestor picket signs. This piece encourages ALL to reclaim their proverbial 'breath' by peaceful and effective protest."

If you would like to order this tee along with others by the Served Fresh brand, you can visit their site at, www.ServedFreshCollection.com

Also, don't forget to follow them on Instagram at @ServedFresh
